Children's Services

The Eastern Shore Coalition Against Domestic Violence provides services directly to children impact by domestic and/or sexual violence. The children’s services advocate provides supportive counseling to the children, education and support to parents on parenting skills and assists the children with basic needs such as school supplies and clothing.

In addition to working individually with the children, the children’s advocate works with the schools to maintain the child’s education, especially during transitions of housing. These services include communicating with the school guidance counselors to create awareness of supports the child may need and coordinating transportation if a child relocates.

The children’s advocate also provides community outreach and education about the impacts of domestic and sexual violence on children as well as providing education to youth regarding healthy relationships and teen dating violence. Presentations can be done in schools, in community organizations or to businesses.

The children’s advocate can be reached by calling (757) 787-1329.
